The Project

The work environment for journalists of color must change. So we developed a set of tools to help newsrooms talk about race. How do we thrive? The Survival Kit for Journalists of Color and the Toolkit for White Journalists are resources that seek to answer this important question.

We’ve been overwhelmed by your support for the Survival Kit for Journalists of Color and the Toolkit for White Journalists. Building on the success of our first workshop at SRCCON in December, the Survival Kit for Journalists of Color team has evolved from a digital prototype to a physical deck of cards. We continue to incorporate your feedback and stories of microaggressions in the newsroom.
